Why do I say the Queen had an advantage? The Pharaoh in the film “The 10 Commandments” expresses it best: “Harden yourself against subordinates. Put no faith in a brother. Have no friend. Trust no woman.” (A faithful wife might be the exception.) Here’s a clip of it: https://clip.cafe/the-ten-commandments-1956/harden-against-subordinates/
Ironically, this is easier for a woman to do when leading men. She’s not their friend, she’s their Queen.
Queen Isabella, queen at age 23, was not in the immediate line of succession, but seemed to have been born to be queen. She drew upon both masculine and feminine traits to lead. She would go into battle on horseback with her men, and devised the system of using medics to retrieve the dead and injured, making it clear to the troops that she really cared about them.
The King Arthur model of leadership might be the exception, if one has friends that are truly worthy. Very hard to find. (Maybe it’s noteworthy that King Charles and Prince William both have Arthur as one of their given names.)
The second to the last Aztec Emperor of Mexico used to dress up like a beggar to find out what the people really needed and what they were saying about the leadership in order to improve it. In this way he turned the people into his best advisors.
King Solomon also used to dress up like a poor shepherd to find a sincere woman who loved him for himself, not his position (as in the Song of Solomon in the bible).
Royalty mirrors Christ’s Kingdom. What a better world this would be if no one was ever robbed again of a sense of dignity and responsibility to one another in childhood and youth (we are our brothers’ keeper). We are sons, daughters and heirs of the Most High God! Only we seem to have forgotten.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ… —Romans 8:14-21
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. —Galatians 3:26-29
Go Deeper: Finding the Nature of God
This video shares 2 amazing visions of God that fit in and expand upon our best understanding (from a physics perspective) of what/who God must be, and gives us insight into our own amazing nature if we are created in God’s image! Who we are is written into the stars, but we normally don’t allow ourselves to understand what this means.
