The Power of Kindness: Love In Action
John 14:12-14 Answered Prayer & 1 John 4:7-21 God Is Love
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
What Love Is
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
Love is not a mere ephemeral emotion. It is a frame of mind, a commitment to kindness, caring, compassion and to the well being of others as well as oneself. It is a win-win mindset, the opposite of, well, stupidity, best defined as a lose-lose mindset.
Whether you can feel love in your heart or not is not nearly as important as whether you express love and caring through your actions. Many people can no longer feel love, although they may remember having felt love and compassion in the past, sometimes as far back as when they were children.
Pray for restoration and the sensation of heart love will return. Until then, go by faith.
John 14:12-14
Answered Prayer
12 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
1 John 4:7-21
God Is Love
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us. 20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

Marriage Counseling Denied if Marriage Devoid of Love—Because They're Not Married
The late Dr. J. Vernon McGee, the country preacher of the “Through the Bible” broadcast refused to give marriage counseling to couples who said they didn’t love each other (he’d always ask if they did). And he’d inform them that he could not counsel them because actually in God’s eyes they are
What a great read truly a pause from everything I’ve been committing myself to lately. I’ve also been diving into the Bible more recently, and this was a beautiful reminder of what love in action really looks like. Thank you for sharing this. 💛
