The US has long had a 1st strike policy to ACCEPT the first nuclear strike, as if it would be in any condition to retaliate after that. I wouldn’t bet on it. Sadly, the experts reach the same conclusion.

A clear advantage to having a monarchy is "living memory" or institutional memory. Republics, particularly now, are often far too absorbed in the current moment without sufficient knowledge/ perspective on how and why the current moment arrived.
